FAQ
Questions, answered.
It is Electron — with the engineering that usually goes missing. Listings are virtualized, so 100,000+ objects scroll smoothly instead of choking the window. The first page of any bucket paints from a single LIST request, and search runs against a local index instead of hammering the network. Fast is an architecture decision, not a framework one.
Focus is the feature. R2 has its own personality — zero egress fees, jurisdictions, custom domains, token-scoped credentials — and a generic S3 client papers over all of it. Targeting one provider is what makes instant first paint with a single LIST request possible.
Your credentials never leave your Mac. Tokens are stored in the macOS Keychain, and requests go directly from your machine to your R2 endpoint over TLS — no proxy, no middleman servers, no telemetry on your data. Revoke the token in Cloudflare and Buckotto is instantly blind.
macOS 14 Sonoma and later on Apple Silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs aren't supported yet. Signed and notarized by Apple.
Buckotto generates presigned R2 URLs locally — pick an expiry from 1 hour up to R2's ceiling of 7 days, and the link lands on your clipboard. Nothing passes through our servers, because there aren't any.
